METHODIST CHURCH

SYDENHAM CIRCUIT The quarterly meeting of the Sydenham Methodist Circuit was held at Sydenham on Monday, the Rev. R. Richards presiding. Mr Richards reported on mission services held at Sydenham during June. Mr S. H. Maddren presented the balance-sheet, which showed a deficit of £37 16s 2d. In view of the deficit, a committee, consisting of Messrs Maddren, Evison, Dobbs, Richards, Watson, McCaughern, Purves, and Sayers was set up to organise social functions. Mr Eric Young, secretary of the Beckenham Sunday School, reported on the work of the school. Twentythree children sat for Scripture examinations. The Beckenham Sunday School anniversary services were fixed for Sunday, September 16, all collections to go to the school funds.
