MR ROOSEVELT'S POLICIES

(Received June 22, 11.40 p.m.) NEW YORK, June 21. The "Literary Digest" is conducting a nation-wide poll, asking its readers whether they approve or disapprove of Mr Roosevelt's policies since the election. More than 1,000,000 votes have been received, and the result is:— In favour .. .. 727,700 Against .. .. 442,127 Forty-seven states cast a majority favouring the President, Vermont alone dissenting by a small margin. The poll indicates also that four out of five who voted for Mr Roosevelt at the national elections in 1932 continue to support him now, and more than one out of three who voted for Mr Hoover now favour the "new deal." Twent3 r -eight states give Mr Roosevelt a proportionately larger majority now than they did in the 1932 election. Business men in 10 states register a clear majority against Mr Roosevelt's acts and policies.
