However, the feeling was that the market would benefit, as the speculative element has recently been getting out of hand. There was a resumption of dealings in Tullamore Gold, which have been on the suspended list for a couple of days. More than 13,000 shares changed hands at prices ranging from 3s to 4s. POULTRY AND EGGS MACFARLANE AND COMPANY'S REPORT Macfarlane and Company report as follows on the weekly egg market: kggs First grade, Is 7sd a dozen; second grade, Is 5d to Is 5Jd a dozen. RED COMB EGG AND POULTRY COMPANY There was a good attendance of the public at Saturday's and Wednesday's sales, and at both there was a good entry of poultry. Supplies were short of the demand, with prices showing an advance on the previous week. Chicken weighing from 4 to 61b, and good ducks, sold exceptionally well. Turkeys have been coming forward in increased quantities, and the demand for them is not as keen as usual. The average price realised for poultry during the week, a pair was:— Roasting chicken, HcrM to 4s 9d, medium to 6s 6d, heavy to 8s 9d; hens, light to 4s, heavy to 6s 9d; ducks, to 7s; goslings, to 6s fid: ti'vfceys lOd to Is nor 11) live-weidht. Eggs—Tested, machine-graded, guaranteed fresh: First grade (2oz or over), Is 6d} second grade (under Sos), Is 5d a dozen.
