TRANSFER OF TEACHERS
COMMITTEE TO REPORT Anomalies in the appointment of teachers were referred to by Mr W. A. Banks at a meeting of the Canterbury Education Board yesterday morning. Under the present instructions from the department more highly graded teachers had to stand aside in favour of teachers on transfer, Mr Banks said. It was not fair to the more highly-graded teachers nor to the pupils. The matter was referred to the appointments committee for a report.
