Giving an assurance that the Government was not influenced by political considerations in the allotment of immigration permits for Palestine, Sir Philip Cunliffe-Lister (Colonial Secretary) stated that no consideration ever actuated either the Government or the High Commissioner except the economic absorptive capacity of that country.
