Lyttelton Golf Club, Charteris Bay, to-morrow, mixed foursomes for Rangiora cleek. Harbour Light Theatre, to-day, 3 p.m. and 7.45 p.m., "Paddy, the Next Best Thing." Personal Captain L. H. Jones, officer in charge of the Lyttelton Salvation Army Corps, returned yesterday from a holiday at Palmerston North. Since being granted holidays he has received promotion from a lieutenancy. Hare Drive A successful hare drive organised by Mr A. E. Williams in aid of the relief of distress fund, was held at Port Levy on Thursday, the party, numbering 10 guns, securing 90 hares. The hares are now at winter weight and are in exceptionally fine condition. Harbour Light Theatre "Paddy, the Next Best Thing," the charming romance of an impetuous and roguish little Irish girl beloved by millions who have read the novel and seen the stage play, comes to the screen at the Harbour Light Theatre to-day, with Janet Gaynor and Warner Baxter appearing together for the first time since they played in "Daddy Longlegs." An excellent supporting programme includes a Fox News, Cinesound News, "Filming the Fashions," a Cinemagazine, and a cartoon. The reserve plan is at King and Cousins until noon, and at the theatre. Miniature Rifle Shooting In a match against the Celtic women's team on Tuesday night, the Lyttelton Miniature Rifle Club's president's team won by 538 to 518. For Lyttelton F. Oakley and G. Smith scored possibles. In the senior competition on Thursday night, Lyttelton was defeated by Christchurch Working Men's Club by 552 to 550. R. Poulsen, R. Sowden, and W.
