POPULAR MEMBER HONOURED At Ballantynes last evening a valedictory tea was given by the United Bowling Club to Mr George D. Freeman, a committee man and selector for many years, who will leave shortly for Melbourne. There was an attendance of 35 members. Mr J. G. Poison (president), in proposing the toast "Our Guest," recalled the generous assistance that Mr Freeman had so freely given to the club. He deplored the loss of his valuable services, and assured him that in the event of his return there was always a warm welcome awaiting him. He presented Mr Freeman with a solid leather bowl case as a token of the respect and esteem of his clubmates. The president was supported by Messrs F. M. Brown, S. Smith, J. Gibbs, J. McGimpsey, A. West, F. Dunn, St. G. Atkinson, T. W, Reese, and H. J. Ranger. On behalf of the club, Mr Ranger, honorary secretary, presented to the guest a box of handkerchiefs for Mrs Freeman. Mr Freeman thanked the members not only for the presents and kind remarks, but for the good-fellowship and support that had always been accorded him. He would long remember the happy times he had had on the green. EDGEWARE CLUB ANNUAL MEETING HELD At the annual TTioe ting of the Bowling Club there -was an attendance of 30 members. Collins, R. Grant, V. Logie, and A. M. Mollison; billiards committee, Messrs W. Jackman, A. Keen, and C. Skoglund; house committee, Messrs D. C. Burns, J. R. Crocker, and S. Kennedy; representatives of general executive, Messrs S. Kennedy and R. V. Logie; representative on croquet section, Mr J. W. Beanland; green committee, Messrs J. W. Beanland, J. Chatfield, and R. Grant. It was agreed to «nter for the pennant matches as usual. The centre delegate was instructed to vote, if the question should crop up at the centre meeting, in favour of reverting to the system of playing pennant matches on every Saturday instead of on alternate Saturdays. It was agreed to carry out the club competitions on the same lines as previously. ■ The club agreed to accept the invitation of the Rev. H, S. Kings to attend a rervice at the Edgeware Methodist Church on the first Sunday after the official opening of the club. BECKENHAM CLUB The following will represent the Beckenham Bowling Club v.
