j MOTION TO DISBAND j FEDERATION j PRESENT CONTROL CONSIDERED j UNWORKABLE j On the ground, that the system of J control of cycling in New Zealand is I declared to be unworkable, a motion i will be moved at the next meeting of the New Zealand Cycling Federation, that the federation be disbanded. Several months ago there was a division among the members after one or two stormy meetings, but the federation was put into order again and was able to continue. In doing so there have been many difficulties, and it is considered by some members that there is nothing else for the federation to do but to disband. Mr J. Sturrock will move at the next meeting: "That the system of control of cycling, under the New Zealand Cycling Federation, is found after two years of practice, to be unworkable and not in the best interests of either the cash or amateur sections, and that the respective constituent parts, namely the New Zealand Amateur Cycling Association and the New Zealand Athletic, Cycling, and Axemen's Union, be allowed to seek their own respective affiliations with world controlling bodies, through their own appropriate channels.'The secretary to the federation, Mr H. D. Loudon, has received advice that the New Zealand Amateur Cycling Association can confirm its present connexion with the Union Cycliste Internationale, while the cash section may revert to its old affiliation with the Federal Cycling Union, in Australia.
