"Now that I am on the eve of leaving New Zealand I have been trying to draw comparisons between Australians and New Zealanders," remarked Mr C. Sussems, when he was met by Napier business men at a gathering to congratulate him on his promotion from manager of the Commercial Bank at Napier to the head office at Melbourne. "Australians generally are bright, easy, devil-may-care sort of people. New Zealanders are hard to know until that veil of conservatism is removed. Then, I think, "they are among the most sincere and warmest-hearted people in the world," he added.
