PLOUGHMAN'S DEATH
Andrew Burnett Middleton, a single man, aged 27 years, of Waikari, collapsed and died on the property of his employer, Mr K. D. Anderson, shortly after breakfast yesterday morning. Middleton was employed as a ploughman. When he went to breakfast at seven o'clock he did not eat, but after a few minutes He walked out to the back yard, where he collapsed. Dr. J. B. Page, of Waikari, was called, but was unable to render any assistance. On examination of Middleton's whare, Constable W. G. Kenealy, of Waikari, found a new bottle containing strychnine, freshly opened, and a tumbler about a quarter full of beer, containing strychnine crystals. Mr H. A. Young, S.M., will conduct an inquest at Waikari this morning
