CENTENARY AIR RACE
KINGSFORD-SMITH TO COMPETE FINANCIAL DIFFICULTIES OVERCOME (Received June 21, 9.30 p.m.) SYDNEY, June 21. Advice has been received that Sir Charles Kingsford-Smith will definitely be a competitor in the centenary air race, as all the rnoney required to purchase the Lockheed. Altair machine has been received. The final instalment was obtained from the sale of the Codock monoplane which is now used on a passenger service between Sydney and Newcastle. Sir Charles Kingsford-Smith's machine will be shipped by the Mariposa on June 27, the waterside workers having agreed to load it.
