BANK NOTES AND SILVER BY THE PORT HUNTER (PRESS ASSOCIATION TELECRAM * WELLINGTON, June 1. In the presence of the police, Customs and bank officials several hundred thousand pounds worth of bank notes and silver coin were unloaded from the Port Hunter to-day after her arrival from London, via Auckland. Twenty lar£e scaled cases of bank notes for the Reserve Bank were lirst discharged and quickly dispatched by lorry. Then several hundred smaller cases sealed and bound with steel bands were unloaded. These contained halfcrowns to the value of £120,000, and were addressed to the Bank of New Zealand.
