Criminal Court; to-day, Aimee Belle Edols was sentenced to two years' imprisonment for obtaining .r:3909 by fraud while a sequestration order was in force against her under the Bankruptcy Act. Evidence showed that Mrs Edols obtained .113900 at different times by representing to a solicitor, Mr A. Edwards, that she had a large sum of mo:.ey coming to her from an investment. There was a fu.ther char ,e against her of having stolen C 3200, the property of Mr P-rcy McConnell, a retired Fiji planter, and still another charge that she contributed to her bankruptcy by gambling, losing between 1920 ar.d 1931 £ 14.000 on racehorses.
