The meeting of the bureau to-day was brief. Mr Arthur Henderson (president), after reading a short statement on the contents of the communications between the principal European powers during recent months, expressed the hope that the bureau would unanimously recommend to the general commission that the gravity of the situation commanded more than ever an unflagging determination to pursue their efforts toward securing a convention in accordance with the mandate given to the conference. M. Louis Barthou (France), the only other speaker, supported Mr Henderson and urged that however difficult the task the conference should not consider its work finished. !
