A contract has been let to a Wellington firm ior the construction of a mobile dental clinic for the Wanganui Dental Clinic Committee. The clinic, which takes the form of a trailer, equipped as carefully as any dental surgeon's rooms, is said to be the first of its kind in the world. It will operate ever the area bounded by Maxwell. 16 miles north of Wanganui and Turakinn, 14 miles south, serving some 19 country schools, with a nominal roll of 700 children. The trailer clinic is to be a compact unit with an over-all length of 12ft sin, a width of 7ft lOin over the frame, and a height from wheelbase to roof of 9ft 10in. The interior is to be a model m economy of space Its furnishings will include a writing desk, an instrument shelf, a sterilising bench, and various cupboards and shelves. A _ water system will be installed, this calling for a tank in the roof filled by means of a small motor pump and acting as a gravity supply.
