THE ELLSWORTH EXPEDITION
- ♦ — aeroplane to arrive in AUGUST [THE PRESS Special Service.] DUNEDIN, May 29. Mr Bernt Balchen, pilot of the Ellsworth Antarctic Expedition, writing to a friend in Dunedin under date May 4, from the business address of the Northrop Coiporation in California, states that he expects to be back in Dunedin with the aeroplane in the latter part of August. "We are starting our test flights again with the aeroplane tomorrow or the day after, he writes. '"We arc going to make some radio tests, and then I am going over to Chicago to pick up Mr and Mrs Ellsworth to fly them out here, and from here over to the East Coast to have the floats of the machine tested. Later I am going to make a trip to Europe to straighten out some matters there, and then to New Zealand."'
