DIAMOND WEDDING
MR AND MRS T. F. WEBB i The diamond wedding of Mr and Mrs T. F. Webb, of 27 Caledonian road, St. Albans, was celebrated in the Oasis tea rooms, New Brighton, on Saturday evening at a function organised by Mr L. A. Webb, second son. Mrs Webb, then Mary Ann Legge, was married to Mr Webb in All Saint's Church, Kensington Park, London, by the Rev. Mr Light. The couple arrived in New Zealand by the Duke ot Edinburgh in 1874, and settled in St. Albans, where Mr Webb followed the trade of painter and decorator. There are three children, all of whom are living, Messrs T. F. Webb (Christchurch). L. A. Webb (New Brighton), and Mrs M. A. Thomas (Christchurch), and 10 grandchildren. One grandson, Mr L. J. Thomas, well known in Christchurch is at present in England studying art as affecting architecture. The toast of Mr and Mrs Webb was proposed by a nephew, Mr H. Stemmer, and Mr L. A. Webb responded on behalf of his parents. Among those present were Mr and Mrs T. F. Webb, Mr and Mrs T. F. Webb, jun., Mr and Mrs L. A. Webb, Mr and Mrs J. H. Thomas, Mr and Mrs J. Collins. Mr and Mrs C. Rides, Mr and Mrs M. Dickson, Mr and Mrs G, Gilmour, Misses J. Webb, E. Webb, K. Thomas, G. Thomas, E. Collins, A. Nelson, and J. Hellewell, Messrs R. Webb, J. Webb, A. Thomas, L. Thomas, H. Collins, D. Collins, G. Crooke, P. Warner, C. Stemmer, and M. Butcher. During the evening music and games were enjoyed and a playette was given by Misses J. Webb and A. Nelson.
