ENJOYABLE DANCE At the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve headquarters, St. Asaph street, on Saturday night the commanding officer and wardroom officers entertained a- number of their friends at a most enjoyable dance. AERO CLUB'S DANCE On Saturday night, the Canterbury Aero Club held a successful dance in the club rooms. Miss R. Collins, Messrs J. J. Busch, L. W. Matson, E. L. Page, F. Sharman, A. Ingham, J. C. Mercer, and R. A. Kirkup were responsible for the excellent arrangements made for the entertainment of the guests. Dance music was supplied by the New Collegians Dance Band. DANCE AT SCARGILL The Scargill Tennis Club's annual ball, which was the first to be held in the district this year, took place in the Alexandra Hall on Thursday evening. There was an unexpectedly large attendance, but the excellent arrangements, made by an energetic committee of local club members, enabled the guests to be accommodated comfortably. The ballroom was decorated with autumn foliage, coloured balloons, and a rainbow-tinted canopy of streamers and Chinese lanterns added to the effect. The supper room was bright with autumn-tinted leaves and bowls of chrysanthemums, the green and gold colour scheme being repeated in the candles. The grand march was led by the president, Mr H. V. Murray, and Mrs Murray. Messrs H. Shadrach and A. Gardner were masters of ceremonies, and the Evans-Campbell dance band supplied the music. The electric lighting effects were arranged by Mr L. J. McNaughton, and Misses Beryl Roberts, Moira Ives, and Leila Roberts were responsible for the decorations. Amongst those present were Mesdames H. V. Murray, T. E. L. Roberts, N. Gardner, A. T.
