WRESTLING
♦— — WONG MJK CHEUNG V. DEAN DETTON Christehurch wrestling patrons have been eagerly awaiting the appearance of the Chinese wrestler, Wong Buk Cheung, and his match with the aggressive American, Dean Detton, promises to draw a packed house at the St. James' Theatre next Wednesday evening. The tall Chinese is the master of several holds which have never been seen here before. He is as lit as possible, but he will need to be at the top of his form to stall off the flying tackles and aeroplane spins of the fast-moving Detton, who has been pitted against the best wrestlers since his last appearance here. The international bout of eight 10minute rounds will be preceded by four amateur preliminaries, among those competing being the Canterbury champions, Ken Asher. Bill Mitchell. Joe Genet, and "Snowy" Lloyd. All tickets, including reserves, are now available at Lange's, United Service Buildings. Doors will open at 7 p.m., from which time the lanthe orchestra will be in attendance.
