THEFT OF PETROL
♦ (rXKSS A3SOCIATIOH TEI.aOBAU.) AUCKLAND, May 12. Caught in the act of siphoning petrol from the tank of a motor-car in the street last night, two men ran away, but enc, George Alfred Mabcrlcy, aged 22, was arrested, and to-day he was fined £lO. The prosecutor said numerous cases of thefts of petrol from parked cars were reported to the police. The offence was difficult to detect. The magistrate said liat only accured's youth saved him from being sent to gaol.
