A perfect example of a benign English spring day greeted the Australians, for the opening match of their tour, against Worcestershire. The wicket appeared true and easy, and the outfield much faster than is usual at the beginning of the season. The Australian team was:— W. M. Woodfull W. H. Ponsford D. G. Bradman A. F. Kippax S. J. McCabe W. J. O'Reilly E. H. Bromley H. Ebeling C. V. Grimmett W. A. Oldfield T. Wall Worcestershire is batting first, and at lunch had lost five wickets for 63.
