STRIKE IN MOTOR INDUSTRY

AMERICAN LABOUR TROUBLE RECOGNITION OF l-'MON WANTED (Received April 25, 8.21 p.m.) NEW YORK, April 23. A message from Cleveland states that 10,000 workers in the Fisher Automobile Body Company, which supplies many bodies to General Motors, struck there and at the St. Louis plant to-day, demanding that the employers recognise their union and grant a substantial increase m pav. The strikers claim to have almost completely stopped production, but the plant manager says it is not seriously handicapped. Several persons were slightly injured in scuffling between strikers and nonstrikers who were attempting to enter the plant at Cleveland. The Automobile Labour Board appointed by the President is attempting to negotiate the differences.
