FILM INDUSTRY

COMMITTEE COMPLETES ITS WORK 'PIIESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) WELLINGTON, April 23. The report of the Parliamentary committee which has been investigating the film industry was handed to tne Prime Minister, the Rt. Hon. G. W. Forbes, to-day by the chairman of the committee, Mr A. Harris, M.P. Although the order of reference was particularly comprehensive and embraced all phases of the industry, the committee has accomplished the task set it in quick time. Its first sitting was held on March 13. and in addition to weekend interruptions the work of the committee was held up for a week by the Easter vacation. The time occupied by the members in making the enquiry has been in striking contrast to the time taken by a similar committee in New South Wales, where the investigation already has been dragging on for several months.
