In the carriage and 'v-jggon department of the London Midland and Scottish railway a workman was found who could speak French, German, and Italian, has a working knowledge of Russian, Swedish, and Yiddish, and can read and write Chinese. Japanese, Hebrew, Arabic, Hindustani, Danish, Norwegian. Dutch, Latin, and Greek.
