SUMNER FORENSIC CLUB
ANNUAL MEETING
Mr W. S. Burford presided over the annual meeting of the Sumner Forensic Club. The balance-sheet showed a satisfactory financial position. The report stated that a particularly successful season had been experienced. There had been record attendances at the meetings and gratifying interest had been shown in the debates. The club took part in three inter-club debates, and was successful in all. It was decided to make Mr F. H. R. Neville a life-member of the club in recognition of his unfailing interest in its activities over a long period. Arrangements were made for carrying out a campaign for increased membership. Complimentary references were made to Mr D. A. McCaskey's work as secretary-treasurer, and he was unanimously reappointed to that office. Mr R. C. Hamilton was also reappointed assistant-secretary. The committee elected* comprised: Messrs D. Bowman, W. S. Burford, J. S. Barr, W. R. Martin, J. H. Thomas, and Douglas Smith.
