RETURNED SOLDIERS' SERVICE

Between 00 and TO returned soldiers attended a service at St. Matthew's Church, St. Albans, last evening, in appreciation of the services given to them by the vicar, the Rev. J. F. Feron. The parade was organised by the St. Albans sub-committee of the Christchurch Returned Soldiers' Association and special hymns, suitable to the occasion, were sung. Mr Feron chose a service that would be suitable for Anzac Day, and after extending a welcome to the men. said that the time was ripe for a readjustment of values. In time to come, he suggested, all armaments would be placed m museums. With 500,000,000 Christians on the earth, he added, something should be done to prevent international strife and carnage.
