Other Centres Auckland. —There was a continuation o£ wet weather and a moderate north-east wind on Saturday. Conditions were fine and sunny yesterday morning, but cloudy and threatening during the afternoon. After being steady for 48 hours, the barometer was falling after midday yesterday. Wellington.—The weather in Wellington on Saturday was dull but mild, with a moderate north-west wind. Rain fell late in the afternoon and during the night. The maximum temperature , was 65.0 degrees. Yesterday was dull ' and misty, with rain at times and a . moderate to fresh north-west wind. * Dunedin—fdeal autumn weather prevailed in Dunedin over the week-end. Saturday opened with bright sunshine which lasted throughout the morning, and although the sky became clouded j in the afternoon the weather was fine and mild with a light north-east brce/.e. There was a continuation of fine weather yesterday, when conditions were similar to those of the previous day. The barometer registered a downward turn, and in the evening read 29.80 in.
FORECAST (From readings taken at 4 p.m.) General Situation—Pressure is still high to the north and east, but a rather deep depression covers the Tasman and is moving on to the Dominion. Winds—Moderate to strong northerlies, reaching gale force in places, changing to southerlies after from 24 to 36 hours. Seas I New Zealand waters)— Rather rough to rough generally. Eastern Tasman Sea—Strong northerly winds to gales, backing soon to westerlies in the northern portion, later to southerlies generally. Seas rough. Weather—Unsettled, dull, and misty, with general rain and some heavy falls, temperatures mild, but a cold change probably during Monday night or Tuesday.
