❖- DKO\VMN<i ACCIDENT AT | KINDLING'S FLAT The body of Mr J. H. R. Cole, who was drowned while fishing oil' the rocks at Birdling's ' Flat on Monday evening, was recovered on Thursday. Search parties had been looking for the body since the time of the accident, and though it was sighted on Wednesday it could not be brought out until Thursday. The party which recovered the body consisted of Constable A. Coutts and a number of Binding's Flat residents. Their task was a difficult one, for they had to be let down (he face of a cliff by ropes. Mr Cole was a single mart, aged 3G years, and lived at 10 Clyde street, Chnstchurch. An inquest was held at Birdling's Flat before Mr H. P. Lawry, coroner, and a verdict of accidental drowning was returned.
