It is reported that detectives are enquiring into the suggestion that the burnm" of the French liners L'Atlantique and Georges Philippar and the disappearance of Mr Hefiin- : aid Lee. acting British Consul-Gen- ; ral at Marseilles in 1930, were con- j neeted with the international espion- i a« e plot. . . World-wide enquiries are being j made. I A body of a man found on the beach I at Marseilles was identified as that of I Mr Lee. and it was at tirst thought j that he had committed suicide. Laler I evidence, however, tended to show ! that the bodv was not that of Mr Lee , at all. and his relatives persisted in , their elTorts to unravel the mystery of his disappearance. The Georges Phil- J ippar and L'Atlantique both sailc.l from Marseilles, and both were burned j at sea. Heavy loss of life attended the disaster aboard the Georges Philiupar.
