Two dariug robberies in which jewellery valued, in the first instance, at £SO and, in the other, at between £IOO and £l5O was stolen occurred m the city within a few hours on Saturday evening and Sunday morning. The first took place at Clark and Morris's, jewellers. Cuba street, when the intruder sained admission to the shop in broad daylight by smashing the .class panel of a side-door without apparently attracting the attention of passers-by. The other robbery, carried out in tiie busiest part of Willis street shortly after 0.30 a.m.. while inanv people were still about in the street, held all the elements of the audacious "smash and grab" variety.
