Although the railway station is already looking very much smarter under its new coat of paint it is not expected that the work of painting will be completed for about two months. A first coat was put on on the outside as quickly as possible to improve the building's appearance for the Easter visitors, but another coat has still to be applied and a great deal of work has to be done inside the building, much of which can be done only at night when the staff is absent. Altogether 25 men are working on the job including 16 painters, two plasterers, six carpenters and one labourer.
