An X-ray examination of Bobby iVarco, the rowing champion, fiiiled to show sums of fractures of the arm and knee he injured m an automobile iiccident on Wednesday. It is expected, however, that he will be unable to resume training for at least a week on account of muscle bruises and sprains. ( KIAVS IX TUAINIM. The Canterbury provincial crew gave an exhibition of rowing on the Cum river at Kaiapoi on Saturday, before a crowd of about 100 spectators. After the exhibition they rowed down to the Waimakariri river and set out for the two-mile peg from Stewart's Gully. The Canterbury College crew picked them up at the mile peg and with almost two lengths' start they led the provincial crew home by half a length. In two half-mile dashes the provincial crew won by a good half length each time. There were more than 200 spectators to watch the
crews at work at Stewart's Gully, and the performances of the crews were of a high standard. The Canterbury College crew which is training for the University sports at Easter will row against the provincial crew during the week. It will co to Stewart's Gully each night while the provincial crew is encamped there.
