During recent years ! handicrafts ol various kinds have | been eniovinn at least a modified rcI rival and'it will be one of the objects of the new company to encourage this development, and. at the same time, see that the craftsman is not exploited unfairly by middlemen. Perhaps naturaflv, craftsmen dislike modern mass production methods, says a London newspaper, while other people j sometimes sneer at what they call this "urty and crafty nonsense." But mass production is likely to give better results if a vigorous individual craftsmanship exists alongside it. and there are many ways in which the two can be complementary.
