PROFESSIONAL TITLE NICOL BEATS LISTER (mils 4SBOCUTIO* TSUMmiH.) INVERCARGILL, March 21. In a fifteen-round contest for th« light-heavy-weight professional boxinf championship of New Zealand tonight, Ray Nicel, 12st (Ohai), the holder, defeated Harry Lister, list 81b fGreymouth), on points. It was a poor fight up to the tenth round, wgth a good deal of wrestling. After that there was more action, and the last round was full of incident Lister made a determined bid to win. the title. A powerful left to the jaw sent Nicol down for a count of rffne. but the champion came up still full of fight, and there were lively exchanges until the gong sounded. NicoL's reach, strength, and superiority at iij-fighting appeared to win him the decision, which met with a mixed reception. In a preliminary, Billy Sullivan, 12st 51b (Hastings), defeated Frank Prendergast, list 71b Hnvercargill), on a technical knock-out in the tenth round of a spirited contest. Doctors oraered the referee to stop the fight.
