---♦ | Mr J. T. Harpur presided at a meet-j ing of the newly-formed New Brighton Axemen's club last evening. The chairman said that the club Was the first of the kind to be formed in Canterbury and that the membership was already 30. The opening date was fixed for Saturday. April 7. when a meeting will be held in conjunction with tho New Brighton Amateur Novices' Cycling Club. , J I The election of officers resulted as follows:—Patrons, the Mayor of NewBrighton iMr E.
