i —+— i | SEASIDE EXCURSIONS CONCESSIONS TO AND FROM RELIEF WORKS | The Chnstchurch Tramway Board met yesterday, when Mr E. J. Howard, ! M.P., presided. Also present were Messrs J. Mathison, G. Manning, E. Parlanc, W. J. Walter, C. E. Jones, G. T. Thurston, and Mrs E. R. McCombs. The works and traffic committee reported that it had decided that the cheap seaside fares in use during January and February be reintroduced for the Easter holidays, Friday to Monday inclusive. The fares would be 3d return for children and 9d return tor adults to Sumner and 7d return lor the other sea beaches. The report was adopted. It was reported that the works and traftie committee had been asked to
provide free passes for workers to and lrom relief works. It was unable to agree but was willing to issue a 4d cash return ticket from the worker's home to the relief job and back, in- !\ olving if necessary a change of cars, providing that the issue of the tickets I was undertaken by the Labour De- l Ipartmcnl. ; i The report was adopted.
