FUNERAL
MR JAMES YOUNG Representatives of local bodies and many personal friends attended the funeral of Mr James Young, which left Riccarton avenue fur the Sydenham cemetery on Saturday afternoon. For many years Mr Young was curator ] of the Christchurch Botanic Gardens. He retired in 1932. Services at the house and graveside were conducted by the Rev. J. Lawson Robinson (minister of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church), assisted by the Rev. Theo. Paterson. Mr Robinson referred to the sterling character of Mr Young, his simple faith, and his line qualities as a man. The chief mourners were the Rev. J. C. Young (Rotorua), Mrs A. Wilson. Mrs E. Sim. Mr A. He was ever a kindly and genial man.'
