Barnett. who relumed from | Wellington yesterday. Mr Barnett : informed a representative ot "The ' Press" that the members of the board had stated that the ;board had been attacked on every side lor allocating to .-chool committee.' ior v.'oik which m any case would be done by casual labour, relief worker-- under the No. 5 : cheme. Where the employment of workers under Iho No. 5 scheme was justified assistance would be eiven. i Mr Barnett added that he had in- ; formed the board that school com-Imit'-'C.-, were not reducing their lieguiar staffs. which consisted | usually of only one caretaker, and |ieplaemg them with relief workers.
