Had said that New Zealand was prepared to pay a ievy of 2d a bale for advertising Empire wool. This, said Mr W. H. Nicholson, secretary of the Canterbury Sheep Owner.-;' Union, last niyht, was obviousiy a mistake. Suggestions of a levy had been made at dirierenl times, but nothing definite had been decided. Sheep owners would be consulted by Ballot or some other means similar to thai, used with the dairy farmers before any definite action was taken. It was po.-niblo. Mr Nicholson ;.dded. that Sir James Parr had been misrcported, for, in the light of the piesent situation, he would bardie lie likely to make such, a statement.
