DRUGS FOR SLIMMING

—--♦ A CORONER'S EARNING (Received March 18, '6.0 p.m.) LONDON, March 17. At the inquest into the death of a man at Paddington the coroner returned a verdict that death was due to nitro-phenol poisoning as the result of misadventure. He gave a serious warning against the use of drugs for slimming purposes. The evidence showed that the unfortunate man, under medical advice, took nitro-phenol capsules, and finding that they were not having the desired effect took an increased dose without consulting the doctor.
