Other Centres Auckland—Fine weather and a light ioutherly wind prevailed yesterday, conditions being overcast during the morning and sunny after mid-day. The barometer was falling slowly and registered 30.Coin last evening. Wellington—Wellington had another fine sunny day yesterday, but there was a moderate to fresh northerly wind blowing. The temperature at 4 p.m. was 62.6 degrees, and the maximum was 68.4 degrees. Dunedin —The weather was again dull and threatening yesterday. Light showers fell in the early part of the morning. A moderate south-west wind was blowing, and the maximum temperature was 53 degrees. FORECAST (From readings taken at 4 p.m.) General Situation —An anti-cyclone stretches along the south coast of Australia across the Tasman Sea on to New Zealand. A slight wave of lowpressure has passed in the south, while a tropical cyclone is apparently situated north of Norfolk Island. Winds —Westerly at first about Cook Strait, and on the east coast of the North Island, otherwise south-westerly prevailing, backing latT to south-east-erly, moderate generally but freshenjrj ing in and north of Cook Strait.

Seas (New Zealand waters) —Rather rough north of East Cape, elsewhere moderate. Eastern Taiman Sea—South-easterly winas, strong in the northern portion, with rather rough seas, moderate ill the southern portion, with smooth to moderate seas. Weather —Fair to fine in most districts, with mild day but cool night temperatures.
