EMPLOYMENT OF FOREIGN SCIENTIST
- PRELIMINARY MEETING HELD
A preliminary meeting to consider the possibility of employing in Canterbury or in some other part of New Zealand one of the many professors, lecturers, and research workers dismissed from the universities of Germany was held in the board room of the Canterbury University College Council yesterday. A number of business men and educational leaders attended the meeting, which was presided over by Mr A. E. Flower, deputy-chair-man of the council, in the absence of the chairman, Mr C. T. Aschman. The discussion was carried on in committee and no report was made to "The Press" afterwards, although Mr Flower stated that a further meeting would be held at the earliest possible date.
