The report was adopted. Opossum Regulations The Under-Secretary for Internal Affairs (Mr Malcolm Fraser) wrote asking the society to forward- any sue. gestions it desired to make regarding alterations to the opossum regulations Mr L. O. H. Tripp, president of the New Zealand Acclimatisation Societies' Association, wrote that he had been receiving several private letters suggesting that there had been much poaching of opossums in different parts of New Zealand, which meant that the Government and the societies were.losing considerable revenue. It had bjen suggested to him that the opossum regulations needed revising. He asked if the society thought that there was much poaching in its district, and if it thought that the opossum regulations needed revising, and if so, in what direction. When he received replies from the different societies interested he proposed to place them before the executive of the association with the object of going into the whole matter with the representatives of the Department of Internal Affairs. It was decided to refer the matter to the rangers' committee for a report.
