PATRIOTIC FUND
MKKTIN(i OF EXECUTIVE A meeting ot the executive of the Canterbury Patriotic Fund was held in the City Council Chambers yesterday afternoon, when Mr C. J. K. Williams presided. The secretary 'Mr R. T. Tosswill) reported having made application for the conversion of £SOO of Christchurch Tramwav Board debentures maturing on October 1, 1944, from ok per cent, to 4£ per cent. It was reported that the payment of £37 6s lOd had been made to Flock House out of the £SO grant authorised at the executive meeting on August 9 last. The secretary reported that the National War Funds Council had forwarded cheques for £IBO and £122, of which £155 and £72 had been handed to the Returned Soldiers' Association for the relief of unemployment.
