Twenty-seven members of the new of the Greek steamer Meandros (4309 tons), which sank in the Channel after a collision with the British steamer Dartmouth, were found drifting in a boat at 3.30 this morning. The men were landed at Portland. Only two arc missing. The minesweeper Pangbourne went ashore off Portland Bill during the fog. but was refloated under her own steam, leaking slightly, and went into dry dock for examination. Early this morning the Russian steamer Rosa Luxembourg (319) tons), off the Sussex coast, sent out distress signals, but the captain refused to abandon the vessel and asked for a tug. The Channel steamer Worthing searched a long time for the Rosa Luxembourg in the fog without success, and a tug was also sent to her assistance. Later she was located, anchored off Worthing.
