THE PRESBYTERY
—♦- ' YESTERDAY'S MEETING '. i I A large number of ministers and elders attended yesterday's meeting of the Christehurch Presbytery. The Rev. L. A. McMaster presided. The clerk, the Rev. G. K. Aitken. reported that the Rev. G. McNeur, of China, would be in Canterbury during April next. Mr Aitken submitted a tentative itinerary for Mr McNeur's tour of the province and stated that it would be advantageous if the Presbytery could arrange for a massed meeting at one of the central churches in Christehurch to welcome him and to hear what he had to say about the foreign missions of the church. This was agreed to and a small committee was set up to organise a comprehensive tour and, if possible, a large central meeting. The Rev. T. \V. Armour, reporting for the life and work committee, said that it had been decided to ,iold a retreat for ministers for several days before the next meeting of Hie presbytery. It was desirable that riiernbers of the presbytery should meet sometimes on a less formal footing, and the Sunday School camp building at New Brighton had been selected as a convenient place for a retreat. The retreat would last from the Monday evening until the Wednesday morning, and the time would be occupied with devotional services and discussions on various subjects. A committee, consisting of the Rev. ,T. A. Allan, the Rev. A. C. Watson, the Rev. D. K. Boyd, the Rev. T. W. Armour, and the Rev. T. Paterson, was set up to make arrangements for the camp.
