♦ There were 13 cases of infectious and other notifiable diseases reported in the Canterbury and West Coast health districts in the week which ended at noon yesterday, as compared with six the previous week, as follows: —Canterbury: Diphtheria 1, tuberculosis 7, puerperal septicaemia 2, hydatids 1. West Coast: Tuberculosis 2. There were two deaths reported in the Canterbury district, one from tuberculosis and one from hydatids. Last week cases of measles in the city were reported by the relief depots but the Canterbury Education Board has not received any notification of the disease in schools other than at the Tai Tapu School, which was closed last week because of measles and whooping-cough.
