For the excursion to Peel Forest, on Sunday next the Railway Department is arranging for visitors to traverse a new track at the stone bridge end 'of the scenic reserve. Although this track is comparatively short, it is cut through virgin bush, in which are many splendid specimens of totara and other native trees. It lias also been decided to conduct excursionists over the main track to Blandswood, as well as the track to the Emily Falls. Statistics show that the number of visitor to France in 1932 were 944.000: this is about 1.000.000 fewer than in 1931. And it was expected that the figures for last year would, be lower
