Heavy rain fell almost continuously during Saturday until early on Sunday morning, and again during the afternoon. After being steady at 30.00 in for 28 hours, the barometer fell after mid-day yesterday. Wellington—On Saturday morning the weather was misty, with a light southerly wind, and drizzling rain. The rain ceased in the forenoon, and in the afternoon there was intermittent sunshine. On Sunday conditions changed verv little, the morning being fair, although cloudy and misty, but in the afternoon there was occasional light rain. Duncdin —The weather was fine and pleasant in Duncdin on Saturday, the sun shining from a clear sky, and the wind being light from the north-east. The maximum temperature was 70 * degrees. Similar conditions prevailed . yesterday, the barometer being steady at 30.35, and the thermometer reading 71 degrees. FORECAST iFrom readings taken at 4 p.m.) General Situation—There is compai- ( ativcly little variation of pressure over | New Zealand, but the distribution is; irregular. Winds—Light to moderate and vanable, with souther!ics or south-easter-lies predominating. Seas, New Zealand waters—Rough, but moderating between Hawke's Bay and East Cape; elsewhere, smooth to moderate. Eastern Tasman Sea—Light to moderate variable winds, southerly predominating; seas smooth to moderate. Weather —Fair in most parts, but with considerable cloud and scattered light rain in many places, temperatures mild.
