CIVIC THEATRE SYDNEY HOWARD IN "UP FOR THE DERBY" To-night is the last night of the British sporting comedy "Up for the Derby." Sydney Howard, the king of comedians, is ably supported by Mark Daly, Dorothy Bartlam, and Frank Harvey in making this attraction a real mirthmaker. "ROOKERY NOOK" "Laughter Week" will begin at the Civic Theatre to-morrow when the famous Aldwych theatre cast including Tom Walls, Ralph Lynn, Winifred Shotter, Mary Brough, and Robertson Hare, will make a welcome reappearance in the greatest of the Ben Travers farces "Rookery Nook." During the last 24 months, this famous comedy team has appeared in several outstanding pictures all of which have proved to be very successful. Nevertheless the unanimous opinion of picturegoers still places "Rookery Nook" as the funniest and best. Public demands must be satisfied and in response to thousands of requests throughout New Zealand, British Dominion Films arranged with the British Studios to make a new copy of this record-breaking comedy, thus picture fans will have the opportunity of witnessing this old favourite in new form.

Three excellent supports precede the main feature, completing a programme of outstanding merit. The booking is already heavy and patrons are advised to make early application for seats. Box plans are open at the theatre, where seats may be reserved at no extra charge.
